Andrea Nervuti 21 August 2023
Within the walls of a literally “hot” Dall’Ara (in every sense), Bologna tries to worry the Rossoneri battleship but has to raise the white flag under the blows of Giroud and Pulisic. Discreet, however, the Bolognese game organization proposed by Thiago Motta, who showed courage and audacity despite the enormous technical gap between the two teams on the pitch. More than positive the debut of Ndoye, engaged in the left-handed lane throughout the race.
Chronicle of Bologna-Milan
Not even the time to get comfortable before Lykogiannis takes aim from 25 meters and fires a surface-to-air missile that rivals NATO: Maignan touches it lightly and the ball first splinters the crossbar and then goes off on the back, charging Dall’Ara . The curve raises the decibels and the race heats up. On the opposite side, however, at the first opportunity Giroud’s close plate unlocks it on a flying assist from Reijnders. Bologna 0, Milan 1. The rossoblù’s response was vehement, but Ferguson’s right-footed shot grazed the right post of the Rossoneri goal, giving only the illusion of a goal. Nothing to do and so, in the 20th minute, Pulisic went it alone and with a large stone from the edge he brought the Devil up 2-0. Milan didn’t take their foot off the accelerator and in the 27th minute an acrobatic left foot from Hernandez exalted Skorupski, who was good at avoiding the third Lombard goal in style. Subsequently, the match calmed down until the 34th minute, when Ferguson again tried with a half-height shot: Maignan put on his gloves and the opportunity vanished. The “classic goal before the interval” would be needed, but the ring did not arrive (indeed, it was Skorupski who had to work overtime with a timely exit outside the area) and Pairetto thus sent everyone to rest with Milan ahead by two lengths.
The second half begins with Orsolini in place of Moro and Bologna seems to be more perky: in the 56th minute the usual Ferguson tries without great pretensions, while Ndoye exalts himself on the left-footed out in the 60th minute hitting the outside of the post after a nice personal outburst. Sin. Bologna, however, did not give up and went close to scoring with Aebischer: right-footed shot from a tight angle and Maignan deflecting for a corner in the style of an ice hockey goalkeeper. Nothing doing, the hourglass ran out and Milan administered the advantage without further jolts until the referee’s triple whistle. At Dall’Ara, Milan beat Bologna 2-0.
report cards
Skorupksi 6-: The French tap-in is too close to be able to intervene successfully. He can’t do much more on the former Chelsea’s shot either. Great save, however, on Hernandez in the 27th minute. He makes a super sliding exit on the edge of the area towards dusk for the first half.
Verse 6: Bad customers on his side, but he doesn’t give up and fights to the end. He closes with the captain’s armband.
Luke 5.5: The opponents, as mentioned, are of a higher level but it seemed more cumbersome than usual.
Beukema 6: Better than the ward mate. He makes a nice save on Leao at the start of the second half.
Lykogiannis 5: Not much stuff, excluding the initial bomb that scares the Devil. (Armor sv)
Dominguez 6-: Orphaned of a companion who could act as a point guard, he had to sing and carry the cross. He cannot support the midfield alone. He comes out exhausted. (El Azzouzi sv)
Aebischer 5,5: Anonymous first half, then risks scoring in the second half. Honest tradesman.
Moro 5,5: Discreet geometries, but more is expected from one with his technique. (Orsolini 6: He enters with desire, despite having just returned from a long break)
Ferguson 6: He tries harder than his teammates, but without being decisive.
Ndoye 6.5: Pure outside cues: aim for the man, dribble and cross. He also hits a post at the end of a personal solo. The best among the rossoblùs.
Circus 5.5: The blows are there, but even the stones know this. The problem remains the lack of competitive malice and with this attitude we go very little… (Van Hooijdonk sv)
