The probable cause of cardiac arrest in Bronny James, eldest son of NBA superstar LeBron James, has been found. The 18-year-old American has a congenital heart defect, a spokeswoman for the family announced.
Bronny James collapsed during a session with his University of Southern California college basketball team in late July and was then taken to the hospital. He was released again a few days later.
James has “an anatomically and functionally significant congenital heart defect that can and will be treated,” the statement said. The family is “very confident that Bronny will make a full recovery and return to basketball in the near future.”
