Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev Share Golf Game Plan for Victory in Cincinnati Masters 1000

Carlos Alcaraz is already in the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 after beating his executioner in Toronto, Tommy Paul, in a match marked by rain and by Sylvester Stallone.

Alexander Zverev also defeated Daniil Medvedev in three sets (6-4, 5-7 and 6-4) with clear interference from Murcia.

As both the Spaniard and the German explained after their victories, both shared a day of golf last week in Toronto in which the world number 16 asked the number 1 about his game against the Russian.

Alcaraz defeated Medvedev with great solvency at Wimbledon, and that caught the attention of Zverev, who, seeing the Cincinnati draw, did not hesitate to ask.

“In Toronto we went to play golf, it was about thirty minutes from where we were, and in those thirty minutes it was time to talk. One thing that came up was that he told me that I had just beaten Daniil quite comfortably, that what was the tactic, than how he did it”, explained Carlitos.

“And I, as an innocent kid, told him my way of seeing the game,” he added, noting that these are things “that don’t happen much, because each one has their coaching staff, but sometimes they do.”

Zverev, for his part, explained it like this: “I played golf with Carlos Alcaraz last week in Toronto. He gave me a very good game plan against Medvedev.”
