Tennis pro Daniel Altmaier just missed the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Kitzbühel. The 24-year-old from Kempen, seeded eighth at the Austrian clay court tournament, was beaten by the Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan 6:3, 2:6, 6:7 (8:10) in his round of 16 on Wednesday.
Altmaier had already led 4:2 in the 3rd set and missed two match balls. Galan’s next opponent is top seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
Later in the day, Yannick Hanfmann from Karlsruhe is also challenged against Arthur Rinderknech from France. In the first round, Hanfmann had benefited from a bye.
