15 days before the start of the Indian Ocean Island Games (JIOI 2023), the organizing committee yesterday drew lots to determine the groups and match schedules for team sports.
In addition, the flame of the games will arrive on the island from August 12th. It will enter the north of Madagascar before crossing the four corners of Madagascar. Several athletes will take turns to carry this flame which should land in the capital the day before the start of the games.
The team sports disciplines concerned by these draws are 5×5 and 3×3 basketball, football, handball and volleyball. There was no draw for rugby sevens, the four participating countries will be presented directly in a single pool.
