The 28-year-old athlete paid a courtesy visit to the “Pats” on July 29. He was released by the Dallas Cowboys on March 15, after a difficult final season due to injuries.
In 2022, Elliott had just 876 rushing yards, his lowest career yardage. He also scored 12 touchdowns.
The Illinois native played the first seven seasons of his career in a Cowboys uniform. He has also participated in the Pro Bowl game three times.
The new acquisition of the Patriots will come to support Rhamondre Stevenson in the backfield. Last offseason, the New England club signed running back James Robinson to a contract before releasing him. This one is now a member of the New York Giants.
