Thomas Tuchel leaves a departure from Benjamin Pavard open. Several media had recently reported on an agreement between the record champions and Inter Milan, but the Munich team is still looking for a suitable replacement.
Benjamin Pavard really wants to leave Bayern Munich. This is now confirmed for the first time by his coach Thomas Tuchel. The Frenchman’s change request causes a lot of trouble in the club. There are already replacement candidates.
Games against FC Augsburg are always something special for Thomas Tuchel. The 49-year-old was a junior coach at the club for two years and is still friends with a bookseller in Augsburg, who always gives him recommendations for nice and appropriate reading.

On Friday afternoon, at a press conference at the club’s headquarters on Säbener Strasse, Tuchel confirmed that the defender would like to leave the Munich club. “Benji has expressed a desire to change. The wish came to me very late. That doesn’t make it any easier. I don’t take that personally. I will work with Benji professionally and with great pleasure.”
Tuchel also said: “The hurdle is very high.” And continued: “Benji was a very important player for me. If anything changes, it is up to us to find a replacement.”

Media reports that Pavard wanted to skip training on Wednesday to force a change were clearly rejected by Tuchel. The 27-year-old was absent due to illness. “I can understand that he personally struggles with his situation, but we don’t take it personally. “There must be a replacement”
Pavard experiences “great appreciation in the coaching team and the whole club,” emphasized Tuchel. “He played at an extremely high, consistent level.” However, the change is not only about the player’s wishes, but also about timing. “There has to be an offer that makes sense for the club,” said the Bayern coach. “There has to be a replacement that makes sense personally and from a sporting point of view.” The national team player Armel Bella-Kotchap (FC Southampton) and Lutsharel Geertruida (Feyenoord Rotterdam) are traded as candidates.
Tuchel will miss the injured young star Jamal Musiala against Augsburg. Who is playing instead? . “Thomas Müller may play. Serge Gnabry may play – or Ryan Gravenberch,” said Tuchel on Friday, looking at the line-up.

In general, he said about the starting eleven: “It’s good for us when we get used to it. There is currently little reason to change.”
