The FIA has made a decision on a possible penalty for Nico Hülkenberg after obstructing Max Verstappen during the second free practice session for the Formula 1 Grand Prix of the Netherlands. The German driver will not be penalized.
The incident happened during FP2 on the circuit in Zandvoort. Verstappen ended this session in P2 and had to acknowledge his superior in Lando Norris, but ran into Hülkenberg at the start of the session. The German was on a warm-up lap, while Verstappen arrived at full speed in the last sector to set a fast time. Hülkenberg parked his car in the middle of the corner, leaving Verstappen to do nothing but hit the brakes and swerve.

FIA decides
The FIA then called both drivers and a representative from the teams to the stewards at 5:30 PM to hear both sides of the story. Based on the images and the explanations of both drivers, the FIA has decided that no penalty is necessary. According to all parties, Hülkenberg’s speed and position on the road was influenced by the cars driving in front of the German. So no warning or punishment for Hülkenberg.
