Hamilton Tigers-Cats and Offensive Coordinator Tommy Condell Part Ways

The Hamilton Tigers-Cats and their assistant coach and offensive coordinator Tommy Condell have agreed to part ways. The news was announced on Monday evening.

Senior assistant coach Scott Milanovich will call the team’s offensive plays going forward.

“It’s a tough day. Tommy is someone I have known since 2013. He is an exceptional man whose work ethic and creativity are second to none. His career with the Tiger-Cats as coordinator and in developing the team’s quarterbacks is impressive. In 2019, he was also able to produce in the short term when he took on the role of offensive coordinator on short notice, which not many people can do. He helped us go 15-3 offensively in the regular season,” head coach and president Orlando Steinauer said in a statement.

“He’s been on our coaching staff for seven seasons and is part of four East Division championships. There is no doubt that Tommy has played a key role in the organization’s development of excellence. We thank him and his family for their contribution and we wish them the best for the future. »

Milanovich coached for 11 seasons in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders (2003), Montreal Alouettes (2007-2011) and Toronto Argonauts (2012-2016). He was named coach of the year in 2012.

He also worked as a quarterbacks coach in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2017-2019) and the Indianapolis Colts (2021-2022).

Hamilton enters Week 10 with a 3-5 record, tied for last in the division with the Ottawa Redblacks.
