Philippe Taurines, multi-medal winner,
framework of France judo and referent of veteran judokas for France, organizes every year an international judo course for veterans (30 years and over) of one week. This year, it took place in mid-August again in Pontarlier in relative freshness compared to the heat wave that raged in the Pyrénées-Orientales. This course brought together 54 judokas from all over France, as well as from Finland, Switzerland, Spain and Sweden. Intense training (about 4 hours of judo per day, in addition to physical preparation sessions) allowed all these judokas to discuss, improve and prepare for the next 2023-2024 season, as well as for upcoming competitions. For some, it was also an “appetizer” for the World Veterans Judo Championships which will take place in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) from Tuesday October 31 to Friday November 3.
The Saint-Cyprien Judo Club was represented at this course by its oldest (78 years old), Yves Rousselin.
