Karim Konate has prematurely extended his contract with Red Bull Salzburg until June 2028. This was announced by the series master on Monday afternoon. The 19-year-old attacker has proven his class several times in the young Bundesliga season and leads the scorer list with four goals. He has also made eight appearances for the Ivory Coast national team.
Konate only moved to the city of Mozart a year ago and initially played for the cooperation club FC Liefering (18 games/15 goals) and the Salzburg UEFA Youth League team (7 games/6 goals). Towards the end of last season he made it into the Bundesliga team, the Ivorian took nine shots for the “Bulls” in 14 games and contributed three assists.
“I am still a young player who is very far from home. That’s why it’s really good for me that I get so much trust at Salzburg. The early contract extension is further proof of that,” said Konate, who will do everything in his power to repay the trust in order to be successful with the club.
