Pedro Galdón.- This Monday, August 14, the National U-14 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Club Championship began, the fourth edition so far this year, in the cities of Acarigua and Araure, with the premiere of almost all of the schools mentioned in the tournament.
The president of the Portuguese State Basketball Association, José Rafael Aranguren, and the events director of the National League of Clubs -organizer of the contest-, Dimas Piter, indicated that the official opening was patented with the performance “jump between two”. by the president of the Municipal Institute of Sports and Recreation of the Araure Municipality (IMDRA), Mary Carpio, at the “Pedro Rodas” Sports Center in the morning; and that, from the kick-off until sunset of the day, the fields selected for the championship, namely, those of the Pedro Rodas, Wilbaldo Zabaleta, Toño Mendoza and El Gordo gyms —in the Paraguay neighborhood of Acarigua— housed a total of 19 games arranged simultaneously in each of them and directed by referees and qualified table staff from different regions of the country.
With respect to the teams, they stated that a total of 26 schools for the men’s tournament and 15 for the women’s tournament were able to meet the call, out of the 48 initially planned, since some of them presented a series of logistical problems that made it impossible for them to move from their respective entities to the championship venue.

Likewise, Piter pointed out that the organizations involved in this event offer a competition with high levels of organization, arbitration and play so that they can experience an “emulation” of the competitions of the older categories.
Aranguren pointed out that in the next few days the matches will be held simultaneously to this Monday, until the end of the group stage.
