Each summer, the most anticipated sports games strengthen their communication and this is particularly the case with NBA 2K24, which takes advantage of the off-season to unveil new in-game images but also details about the game’s MyCareer mode.
Wemby and Booker show up in NBA 2K24
2K Games has therefore just unveiled the first images from the gameplay of the next NBA 2K. We see the faces of Devin Booker, the star back of the Phoenix Suns, but also of Victor Wembanyama, the famous French prospect drafted in first position by the Spurs last month.
It is clearly a pleasure to see the young Frenchman highlighted in this way, even if it is not surprising given his media coverage for several months. We also know that his overall rating will be 81 when the game is launched, and only time will tell if he is able to achieve a higher rating from his rookie session.
As for the graphics themselves, it’s still as beautiful as ever without giving us a slap in the face either (Booker still looks just as tired in the game) and we’ll need a lot more than a few nice sweat effects to convince us of the franchise renewal.

Updates on what’s new in the game and upcoming announcements
Finally, 2K announced the roadmap of announcements to follow from the week of August 14. Concretely, the next NBA 2K emphasizes fluid and realistic gameplay, paying particular attention to detail. Game mechanics have been reworked to provide more immersive interior defense and dribbling combo controls for skill-based actions and improved efficiency.
For MyCareer, you should enjoy a clean, more realistic and authentic experience. Customization options for MyPLAYER will be limitless.
The City will offer a brand new experience with a brand new reimagined city. The optional side quests will be numerous, but also the streetball competitions.
Finally, MyTEAM mode returns with innovative improvements. Among them is a brand new salary cap mode that adds an extra strategic dimension to the game.
NBA 2K24 will be released on September 8 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch and the game is available for pre-order now.
