Neymar Jr reportedly wants to leave Paris Saint Germain (PSG) before Ligue 1 2023/3034 rolls around.
Initially L’Equipe reported that Neymar had conveyed plans to leave PSG in the current transfer window.
This news is clearly a blow to PSG, which Lionel Messi has left for Inter Miami. Most recently, Les Parisiens are also in danger of losing Kylian Mbappe.
Neymar is still under contract with PSG until 2025. With two seasons remaining on his contract, clubs interested in signing Neymar will automatically have to pay a transfer fee to PSG.
Neymar da Silva Santos has denied these rumours. He did not hesitate to criticize L’Equipe as a newspaper that contains lies to the public.
“I can’t confirm news that never happened. L’Equipe turned into L’Efake,” Neymar senior was quoted as saying by Premierleague Brasil.
PSG management was also reportedly surprised by Neymar’s request. Moreover, the Brazilian national team star appeared impressive after scoring two goals in PSG’s victory over Jeonbuk in a trial match.
Neymar’s father suspected that there was an ulterior motive behind the news about Neymar at L’Equipe.
“Information that allegedly came from somewhere, let’s try to understand what that means,” Neymar’s father added.
