SANTO DOMINGO. The Pan American Judo Championship will deliver the first medals in the cadet category this Saturday in the Pavilion of that discipline of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.
The preliminary competitions are scheduled to begin at 3:00 in the afternoon, while the opening ceremony will take place at 4:00, according to the Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo).
Prior to the day on Saturday in the cadet specialty, the technical meeting will be held this Friday, starting at 2:00 in the afternoon, in the Fedojudo activities room.
On Sunday, from 10:00 in the morning, the preliminary competitions in the junior category will begin, and in the afternoon the finals that will define the medal winners will take place.
The Cadet and Junior Pan American Championship is organized by Fedojudo, with the endorsement and support of the Pan American Confederation of that sport (CPJ).
After the events, Fedojudo also released the information that a camp with athletes from the different delegations will be held from 21 to 26 of this month at the National House of Judo.
The Pan American Cadet and Junior Judo has the support of Fundación Sami Otma, Opal Jean, FQTEk Solutions, R&H Mejía, Planeta Azul, Gatorade, CPJ, Dominican Olympic Committee, Ministry of Sports, Induban, Combat Sports & Fitness Company, Soportex, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, OMSA, INEFI and the Embassy of Japan in the Dominican Republic.
“All the logistics are assembled to once again bring together the future champions of the Pan-American continent,” revealed Gilberto García, president of Fedojudo.
Athletes from Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic will participate in the contest.
