With the objective of verifying the progress of the Quintana Roo players and taking advantage of the summer vacation season, five badminton schools, from three municipalities, held a series of friendly confrontations, taking place at the Poliforum “Benito Juárez ” from the city of Cancun.

As part of the actions of the New Agreement for Well-being and Development, promoted by Governor Mara Lezama, stresses the importance of providing opportunities to the young athletes of the entity, therefore with the support and backing of the Commission for the Youth and Sports of Quintana Roo (COJUDEQ), chaired by Eric Arcila Arjona, the Quintanarroense Badminton Association held this meeting where the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Solidaridad and Othón P. Blanco were present.

“There were many benefits of this friendly cap, because by having an internal competition at the state level between our players, it will raise the level and if we add the teamwork that the coaches are doing, they will give positive results very soon”, commented Rafael Orozco, president of the Quintanarroense Badminton Association.

Training, experience, presenting new talents, verifying progress and areas of opportunity, initiation to competition and sharing knowledge, were some of the valuable benefits that badminton players and coaches from Quintana Roo had after this unprecedented activity in this land.

A total of 40 athletes participated in this friendly match, highlighting the presence of players from the Under-11 and Under-13 categories.

«Players of all categories were seen, the great ones to see who can strengthen the state team, but main attention was paid to those who start badminton early to be able to give them support and follow-up, thus reaching a competitive level at older ages. early,” added Orozco.

Finally, I would like to highlight that this meeting was held with the support of COJUDEQ, which provided transportation, food and lodging for the Chetumal team, in addition to facilitating the facilities of the “Benito Juárez” Poliforum, where the activity was held.
