Ramos, knocked out in the first round of the US Open by the young Michelsen

MADRID, 29 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Albert Ramos was eliminated this Tuesday in the first round of the US Open, the fourth ‘Grand Slam’ of the season and which is played on a hard court in New York (USA), by a result of 6-4, 6-3 and 6-4 against the young and lanky American Alex Michelsen.

With just turned 19 years old and currently occupying the 127th position in the ATP ranking, Michelsen took advantage of his ‘wild card’ in Flushing Meadows to get rid of Ramos in 2 round hours. In the next round he will play against Chilean Nicolás Jarry, executioner of French Luca van Assche (6-3, 3-6, 6-2 and 7-6[3]).

To get to that appointment, Michelsen began by breaking the rival’s serve twice, achieving an advantage (3-1) that he knew how to manage to tie the first set in his favor. Already in the second set, the man from Barcelona gave up his serve again in the third game (2-1) and was in tow all the time, unable to scare the rest of the local tennis player.

Despite taking the second set with a ‘break’ (6-3), the man from Aliso Viejo started the third with less momentum. In fact, Ramos broke in the fifth game (2-3) and then in the seventh he enjoyed a 30-40. But not specifying that income weighed on him, losing his service right after (4-4) and falling permanently in the tenth game.
