Former world-class tennis player Serena Williams has given birth to her second child. Her husband Alexis Ohanian announced the birth of daughter Adira River Ohanian on Instagram on Tuesday, posting several photos of the now family of four.
“I am grateful to report that our home is overflowing with love: a happy and healthy newborn baby girl and a happy and healthy mom,” wrote the tech entrepreneur and co-founder of the Reddit platform. Addressing Williams, he added: “Serena Williams, you have given me another gift beyond compare, you are now the GMOAT,” he wrote, meaning the “Greatest Mother of All Time”. “I will never forget the moment I had the privilege of introducing Olympia Ohanian to her baby sister,” added Ohanian. A little later, the 41-year-old also published a photo of the infant on Instagram with her, her husband Alexis Ohanian and their first daughter Alexis Olympia.
Williams, 41, made her pregnancy public at the famous Met Gala in New York in May. The first child of the 23-time Grand Slam winner, daughter Olympia, was born in September 2017 with an emergency caesarean section.
With 23 singles titles in Grand Slam tournaments and 319 weeks at number one in the world rankings, Williams is considered one of the most successful and best tennis players of all time. The former world number one ended her career last year. Her sister Venus Williams is also a highly successful tennis player.
