Spain’s Provisional 12+1 for the World Cup: Alberto Díaz’s Injury Update and Scariolo’s Plans

Alberto Abalde, Sebas Saiz and Jaime Pradilla were the first three discards from the National Team towards the World Cup in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines that begins for Spain, the current champion, on August 26. The list of the Jakarta twelve, however, is not closed. Scariolo takes a few days off before traveling

Aware that there are weeks to come in which the players will be away from their families, Sergio Scariolo had already planned two days off for those called up for the World Cup. Some of them, like Alberto Díaz, will have to do extra homework because the debut of the National Team is just around the corner. Spain will travel to Indonesia on Tuesday (stop in Istanbul); and, after three days of adaptation, he will debut on Saturday against the Ivory Coast in Jakarta (3:30 p.m. Spanish time). On the 28th, the match against the group G bone, Brazil (3:30 p.m.), which will define in which situation they will reach the second phase. And on Wednesday the 30th, the group against Iran closes (3:30 p.m.).
