Successful Conclusion of Catalan Sun Tournaments and Registration Information for Upcoming Events

After a month full of competition and conviviality, it’s time for registrations. First meeting this Saturday, August 26.

The Catalan Sun multichance tournaments brought together 66 young players from the U10 to U18 categories. This was followed by the Grand Prix de la ville de Cabestany tomorrow 2023, an open tournament where 308 participants, locals and holidaymakers, followed one another on the Germanor courts. Almost a month of tennis, rich in competition, sharing, fun, good humor and ever-increasing conviviality thanks to the 25 volunteers who worked to make these tournaments a success, but also thanks to the expansion of the club house and the installation of LED lighting on the courts, as well as around and inside the club. Energy savings necessary in these times, not to mention the visual comfort that will be offered to members and future competitors.

Open tournament honors

Clément Deleersnyder (-15), licensed in Saint-Estève, but a child of the COC, trained by Luc Granara, a state graduate of the club, won against Thomas Rengel Sierra (-4/6 TC Saint-Estève). Among the ladies, victory for Léonie Boos (4/6 TC Lagnieu) against Cabestaniencque Marion Clergeot (4/6). In + 35 years, the president of the COC tennis Grégory Mann (15/1) won against Guillaume Teissonnière (15 TC Collioure). In + 45 years men, David Pajter beats Yannick Aparicio, both 15/3 and dismissed in Saint-Estève. In women over 45, Sylvie Clergeot (15/5 COC tennis) beats Sandra Verdeil (15/4 TC Illois). The second chance TMC of 15/1 to 4/6 was won by Vincent Berger ranked 15 in the COC. Appointment is given Saturday August 26 and Saturdays September 2 and 9 for the open days. Registration open from Monday, August 28, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
