In July, Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco was reported to be under investigation by the attorney general of the Dominican Republic for an alleged relationship with a 17-year-old boy.
The minor filed the complaint on July 17, one day after a 14 year old girl shared several posts on X (Twitter) claiming that she had a relationship with him.
Now, the baseball player finds himself in even more trouble when another minor, 17 years oldpresent stating that she also had a relationship with Franco.
The initial claim on July 17 led his team to issue a statement that will be suspended pending further investigation.
“During today’s game, we learned about the posts on social networks that are circulating about Wander Franco“The Rays said in a statement.
“We take the situation seriously and we are in close contact with Major League Baseball as it conducts its due diligence“.
It is also said that Major League Baseball East investigating the social media posts of the 14-year-old’s claims in July, according to the Associated Press.
