The Brooklyn Nets Sign Forward Trendon Watford: Details and Analysis

The Brooklyn Nets have reached an agreement with Trendon Watford, as announced by the same team.

The forward was released from the Portland Trail Blazers shortly before the start of free agency on July 1. The decision came as a surprise as he still had two years left on a four-year pact signed in February of last year, after joining the organization with a two-way contract. In 2022-2023, he totaled 7.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 62 games.

For his part, the journalist New York PostBrian Lewis added that Watford’s deal is standard, but whether it is guaranteed is unknown. The move rounds out Brooklyn’s 15-man roster, which can still add a two-way deal and two invites to the training camp.

The 22-year-old player is coming off his second season with the Oregon franchise. In the first he participated in 48 games with numbers of 7.6 points, 4.1 catches and 1.7 passes for an annotation.
