the first Memorun race organized in the Bois de Vincennes

On September 16 and 17, the France Alzheimer and related diseases association is organizing the first Memorun race in the Bois de Vincennes in Paris. Marie-José Pérec will notably be present.

During the weekend, the Village Memorun will offer information stands and demonstrations of adapted physical activities: table tennis, handibox, tai-chi… Different race formats are on the programme. On Saturday September 16 at 2:00 p.m., the children’s 1 km, and at 3:00 p.m., a 5 km race. On Sunday September 17, at 10 a.m., the 10 km race, and at 10:30 a.m., the 5 km walk.

As the organization explains, the first objective of Memorun is to “bring together sick people, caregivers and the general public around a sporting and festive event. It is also a way to learn and raise awareness about the disease as much as possible, but also to support research with 100% payment of the registration for the France Alzheimer and related diseases association”. The second objective of Memorun is to “make running accessible to everyone, whether for the youngest or for the elderly. Anyone over the age of 6 and with a certificate of non-contradiction to the practice of running will be able to participate in one of the courses. Depending on the race chosen, the price of the bib ranges from 7 to 22 euros.
