After their outstanding participation in the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023, the players Job Castillo Galindo, Luis Armando Montoya Navarro and Haramara Gaitán Fausto, will face an upcoming challenge: the 2023 Badminton World Championship, to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from August 21 to 27.
For the Badminton World Federation contest, the three Mexicans aim to score points in the international ranking, with the goal of reaching the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Job Castillo, Luis Montoya and Haramara Gaitán held a concentration in Villas Tlalpan, of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE), and this Friday, accompanied by coach Salvador Sánchez, they flew to the host city to face the contest, where Castillo and Montoya is going for his second world experience in the men’s doubles modality.
“The important thing is that these competitions give a lot of points for the world ranking, the more rounds we advance, the better the positions will be; We seek to advance as much as we can and have a better face for the Olympic Games”, commented Luis Montoya.
“We are excited because it is the second time that we are going to compete in a World Cup as a men’s doubles pair, we already did it last year in Japan, we want to leave everything on the court and we are very enthusiastic about the commitment to give our best effort,” he said. .
The World Championship, to which they attend with the support of CONADE, is part of the great preparation for the next participation of Mexican badminton in the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, in Chile, just for which they will continue with their concentration in Villas Tlalpan together to the rest of the team.
