The man from Ciego de Avila hits .372 in the Canadian Intercounty Baseball League
Raúl González Isidoria appears as the only representative of the Avilanian Tigers in the pre-selection of the Cuban baseball team for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile, to take place between October 20 and November 5.
As reported by Cubadebate, González will have to dispute his position in the squad led by Armando Jhonson against Bárbaro Erisbel Arruebarruena, Yadil Mujica, Roberto Baldoquín, three with experience within Major League organizations, and other infielders.

The recent action of the man from Ciego de Avila is with the Kitchener Panthers, second place in the current Canadian Intercounty Baseball League, where he has demonstrated his bat-in-hand skills. He has the fourth best offensive average in the competition (.372), with 58 hits, 10 doubles, 12 home runs and 52 RBIs.

In both the Lima 2019 and Toronto 2015 editions, the two previous regional events, Raúl González was part of the Cuban teams that finished in sixth position and with the bronze medal, respectively.
Another native of Ciego de Ávila, although he defends the Industriales jersey in the national classics, the pitcher Pavel Hernández Bruce, appears in the extensive list of 61 players.
The Greater Antilles, top baseball winner at the Pan American Games ―with 12 gold medals, plus one silver and two bronze medals―, will pursue the goal of raising the title once again, which has been impossible since Rio de Janeiro 2007 .
