The Indonesian national team, which will compete in the qualifying round for the U23 Asian Cup, was once again belittled by the Vietnamese media.
Vietnamese media Soha’s statement is based on statistical data.
“Statistics ahead of Group K (matches) are not simple for Indonesia U23. The last time, Indonesia U23 passed the group stage of the Asian U23 Championship was in 2012,” the media wrote.
Based on this, Soha predicts that the Indonesian national team will find it difficult to face the Turkmenistan U23 team, which just won against China with a score of 2-0.

“Recently, Turkmenistan U23 played a friendly match with U23 China. As a result, Turkmenistan U23 won with a margin of 2-0. This partially shows the quite high level in Turkmenistan U23.”
Even though Indonesia hosted the qualifying round, the media wrote that in the last match at AFF U23 the national team could not win against Vietnam. Based on this, the Vietnamese media suggested to the Indonesian National Team to be the best runner up in order to qualify for the U23 Asian Cup finals.
“If it is difficult to win against Turkmenistan U23, Indonesia U23 must consider the option of becoming four of the 11 best second-placed teams to get a ticket to the U23 Asia Finals.”
Even so, Shin Tae-yong never loses before going to war. He stressed that the U23 Indonesian National Team had a great chance to qualify for the finals in Qatar.
“”In theory, our chances of reaching the final in Qatar are very big. We are playing at home, so let’s work hard to finish the job!” wrote the media.

For your information, in the 2024 Asia U23 qualifying round, Indonesia will host Group K matches starting on Wednesday 6 September 2023 to Tuesday 12 September 2023. The U23 national team is in the same group as Turkmenistan and Chinese Taipei.
