Due to the obstruction in the drainage of the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM), workers from a private company carry out desilting to avoid flooding.
The heavy rains this Monday collapsed an airport ceiling light located at the height of gate 2, as well as flooding in Terminal 1, on runway 05L/23R, and on Capitán Carlos León avenue, which serves as access to the terminal .

The water leaks in Terminal 1 were derived from the partial fall of a ceiling light; No one was injured and air operations are proceeding normally.
Between gates one and two of Terminal 1 of the AICM, six workers from the company Desazolve y Construcción Deyco SA de CV carry out drainage work, while three others took measurements of where the ceiling was located and collected debris.
According to a Deyco company worker, the work is done because the drainage duct from the bathrooms, which are approximately 10 meters from the area, is covered.
“It is maintenance, it is desilting. They reported to us that he had covered himself from the bathing area, ”said the company worker who preferred not to give his name.
Outside gate 1, a vector truck sucks with a hose to free the drainage ducts, after the flooding registered in Terminal 1.
The AICM authorities explained that it was an atypical rain, since 190 millimeters of rain fell on the airport, “which is an extraordinary amount, since the normal is 20 to 30 millimeters,” said the AICM.
