Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Tokyo Verdy coach Hiroshi Jofuku opened his voice about the appearance of the Indonesian national team players Pratama Arhan in the match against Shimizu S-Pulse on Sunday (6/8).
Indonesian National Team player Pratama Arhan finally got the chance to play for the first time with Tokyo Verdy in the Japanese League 2 or J League 2 this season.
This moment occurred when Tokyo Verdy lost 0-1 to Shimizu S-Pulse in the J League 2 2023 match at Ajinomoto Stadium, Chofu, last Sunday (6/8).
In that match, Pratama Arhan was introduced in the 80th minute to replace Hidemasa Koda, who actually only played at the start of the second half to replace Lotus Kato.
At that time Tokyo Verdy was trailing 0-1 thanks to a goal by Shimizu S-Pulse player Yuito Suzuki in the 35th minute.
Arhan plays in his original position, namely left back. However, Tokyo Verdy coach Hiroshi Jofuku considered Arhan’s performance in his first match in J League 2 this season to be unsatisfactory.
“We made a few mistakes, so I hoped he would give us a good left-foot shot and a throw-in. However, I don’t think we could develop it to that point,” said Hiroshi Jofuku as quoted from the Tokyo Verdy website.
“Of course, he’s a wing-back so I think he’s struggling a bit [untuk bermain] up front, and he’s a strong, well-built player, so I think he’s done a good job of stopping the ball up front. Regarding whether we were able to bring out our best abilities, I don’t think we did it today,” Hiroshi Jofuku added.
So far, a total of Pratama Arhan have only experienced playing in the Japanese League 2 twice, namely once last season and once this season when Tokyo Verdy lost to Shimizu S-Pulse.
Apart from that, Pratama Arhan has had two chances to appear in the Emperor Cup this season.
