Vietnam, which has successfully become Asia’s representative in 2023 Women’s World Cup had to swallow a 0-7 defeat to the Netherlands.

Vietnam, which has lost two defeats to the United States and Portugal, faced the Netherlands in the last game. Vietnam’s closing match turned out to be a bleak end for them.

Vietnam was crushed by the Netherlands with a score of 0-7. Esme Brugts and Jill Roord scored two goals while the other three goals were scored by Lieke Martens, Katja Snoeijs and Danielle Van de Donk.

With the loss to the Netherlands, Vietnam officially ended their journey at the World Cup this time without points in hand. Vietnam conceded 12 goals without ever being able to score against their opponent.

This 7-0 victory over Vietnam made the Netherlands end the trip in the group phase with the status of group winners. The Netherlands collected seven points from two wins and a draw.

The United States accompanies the Netherlands as representatives of Group E. In the last game, the United States played a goalless draw against Portugal so that they maintain a point difference with Portugal who are in third place.

Another Southeast Asian country that is appearing at the 2023 World Cup, namely the Philippines, must also be stopped in the group phase. But the Philippines had tasted victory when they beat New Zealand with a score of 1-0.

The Asian representative who can speak volumes at the Women’s World Cup is Japan. Japan collected three wins and stepped into the last 16.
