We can’t predict how many games Spurs will win next season, probably not many. But apparently they will still be widely supported, en masse, in their newly renamed Frost Bank Center den. After the signing of Victor Wembanyama with the first pick of the Draft, a wind of enthusiasm and excitement has in fact found the city of San Antonio: a real “Wembamania”. In recent weeks, requests for season tickets have flooded and the club has been forced to put 1,500 new season tickets up for sale, offering various options, in the face of a demand that remains very high.
“Given the continued strong enthusiasm shown by our fans this summer, we have expanded our range of year-round season ticket offers to suit everyone’s different budgets and schedules,” said Tim Salier, Spurs head of ticketing. “We constantly adjust our proposals taking into account the feedback that our fans give us. The timing is perfect for him to join the Spurs family, as demand will reach a level never before seen in our franchise history once the schedule for the 2023-24 season is unveiled.” The Spurs will begin their preseason on October 9 in Oklahoma City, and Victor Wembanyama’s first home game will be on October 13, against Miami. Then, as reported by the well-informed Marc Stein, “Wemby” and company will begin the regular season at home on October 25 against the Dallas Mavericks.
