World Archery Announces Participants for World Cup Grand Final in Hermosillo, Sonora

The World Archery or International Archery Federation, officially announced the 32 archers who earned their right to participate in the grand final of the World Cup of the specialty, which will be held from 9 to 10 September in Hermosillo, Sonora.

In the event that will be held in the Plaza Zaragoza in the state capital, the archer from the city, Alejandra Valencia, will seek to get on the podium before her people, being one of the eight competitors in the women’s recurve bow modality.

For the Sonoran, it represents her seventh participation in the final moon of the Hyundai World Cup and second in a row, where the closest she has been to the podium was in 2022, in Tlaxcala, when she finished in fourth position; her only medal was in 2015 in Mexico City, but it was for teams.

Along with Valencia Trujillo, the goalkeepers Lim Sihyeon (South Korea), Kang Chae Young (South Korea), Penny Healey (Great Britain), Peng Chia-Mao (Chinese Taipei), Lisa Barbelin (France), Casey Kaufhold (United States) and Michelle Kropper (Germany).

Similarly, in the men’s branch of the same modality, Matías Grande from Guanajuato will face Dan Olaru (Moldova), Marcus D’Almeida (Brazil), Mauro Nespoli (Italy), Kim Woojin (South Korea), Lee Woo Seok (South Korea), Brady Ellison (United States) and Dhiraj Bommadevara (India).

For its part, the compound modality will also be played, where in the women’s category there will be Dafne Quintero from Coahuila, who will compete for the medals with Jyothi Surekha Vennam (India), Ella Gibson (Great Britain), Sara López (Colombia), Tanja Gellenthien (Denmark), Aditi Gopichand Swami (India), Cho Su A (South Korea).

While in the men’s branch, it will be Miguel Becerra from Guadalajara who sits at home against Jozef Bosansky (Slovakia), Prathamesh Samadhan Jawkar (India), Abhishek Verma (India), Sawyer Sullivan (United States), Mike Schloesser (Netherlands ), Mathias Fullerton (Denmark) and James Lutz (United States).
