There is essentially no thrill during the first day of the European Baseball Championships in the Czech Republic. All the great powers play against teams that are significantly lower in capacity; the result is that, out of eight games, five end with displays in the seventh inning.
That’s not what happens to Britain, because if Italy easily disposes of Hungary at a rate of 15-2, the British are unable to go further than 4-0 against Sweden; perhaps not the most convincing of matches for the second strength of grouping B.
In group A of OstravaHowever, easy debuts for the Czech Republic and Spain. The hosts beat Austria 9-0 without any major problems, the Iberians did even better, giving Greece a clear 14-1.

Group C in Brno, however, sees the reigning champions Holland give substance to their condition through an interesting 9-0 over France. As for Croatia, however, it is 11-1 against Ukraine.
In the end, in group D of Prague, easy route for Germany who beats Belgium 15-4. Even Israel, now a powerhouse since 2019, does not have many problems: 14-1 against Switzerland to begin the defense of the 2021 final.
