Asvel strong against Le Mans at the end of the first day of Betclic Elite

Summer recruitment should fuel these hopes of revenge. Sunday against the Manceaux, three new faces from Rhone stood out from the start to knock out the Manceaux. Paris Lee scored the first points of the match with a left-handed drive, relayed by his American compatriot Frank Jackson, also sharp in penetration, and the felling of Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot (16 points, 3 rebounds).

“TLC” in form for its return to the Championship

The international winger, 2021 Olympic vice-champion and 2022 European vice-champion with the Blues, returned to the LNB, left in 2015 (Antibes was then in Pro B) a year before presenting himself for the NBA draft where he spent six seasons. Expected as a leader, he increased the gap to fifteen points from the start of the second quarter, at the conclusion of a counter-attack and in penetration (36-21, 14th).

Largely in the lead at the break, Asvel continued to widen the gap, helped by a highlight from Nando De Colo (15 points). But TJ Parker and his staff will undoubtedly take a close look at the relaxation observed at the end of the match. On the ropes, Le Mans came back to eight lengths on two free throws from Matt Lewis (10 points) less than three minutes from the final buzzer. Joffrey Lauvergne, very good (14 points, 8 rebounds) for his return after a year of absence (knee), finally sealed the Rhone success with a basket plus the fault of Wilfried Yeguete (87-73, 38th).

Asvel will travel to Gravelines next Saturday to continue to build momentum in preparation for the clash against Monaco on October 1st.
