Many people will know him primarily as the ex-fiancé of superstar Jennifer Lopez. The 48-year-old was in a relationship with the singer from 2017 to 2021. “I looked unhealthy”

The decisive factor in A-Rod turning his life around was the concern of those around him. The 48-year-old revealed in the Instagram post in question: “At the end of 2021, my family pointed out to me that I looked unhealthy. That’s not what you like to hear, but I knew I wasn’t at my best.” With the help of his friend, trained nurse and fitness expert Jaclyn Cordeiro, he set about the goal of becoming healthier and fitter . Even small changes in everyday life have a big impact, as he revealed, now 15 kilos lighter.

Diet changes helped Alex Rodriguez lose weight

“It came down to making some important adjustments in my habits,” the baseball player explained on social media. Two such lifestyle changes affected Alex Rodriguez’s diet: “1. More plants and less red meat. 2. Intermittent fasting.” The athlete is particularly popular with intermittent fasting. This fasting variant is popular with many celebrities. How the 16:8 interval fasting variant came about

16:8 stands for the form of intermittent fasting, in which you abstain from food for 16 hours, followed by an eight-hour window in which you can eat healthily. The fact that the time split is exactly 16 to 8 and not 15 to 9 has a funny background. It was created by chance during a mouse study. This was revealed by renowned researcher Dr. Satchin Panda in a FITBOOK interview.

“The thing about the 16-hour fasting window originally comes from our laboratory,” says the expert. “It had no empirical basis.” The reason was the German doctoral student Christopher Vollmers, who was also involved in the mouse study. “Christopher had a new girlfriend. And this friend had set the condition that he was not allowed to spend more than nine hours in the laboratory.” For this reason, it was practical to limit the feeding phase to eight hours.

Health journey changed his life
