This Friday (08/09), the more than 100 children and young people registered in this special edition of Campus 12 had the day completely dedicated to improving their skills on the field. The project, promoted by Academy 12 in partnership with Fluminense, aims to comprehensively develop all the capabilities of children and adolescents, allowing the creation of values, creativity and individual identity for each athlete through sport.

In the morning, the students started the day with a light warm-up on the field. After a snack break in the club’s Main Room, children and teenagers between 6 and 16 years old were divided into four groups, separated by age, and taken back to the lawn, where training began. Students Pietra Santana and Beatriz Moraes, aged 11 and 12, respectively, shared what the experience has been like.

“It’s been really cool, I’m really enjoying it. It’s like living the life of a player for a few days, learning the fundamentals, training a lot”, said Pietra.

“The experience is really cool. Yesterday, we were able to go to the CT, see the place and, of course, the players too. Today is focused on training, practicing a lot of passing and finishing, and I’m having a lot of fun”, said Beatriz.

At the end of the morning training, the kids went back to the Noble Hall for lunch and then they were able to rest and enjoy some activities in the pool. Leandro da Silva, responsible for Campus 12 in Belgium, explained a little about Methodology 12 and the objective of the project.

“The difference in the training we do here is Methodology 12, created by Caio (Alves) and Marcelo. Here, we work on the field, indoor and sand, bringing together important fundamentals from the three modalities to form a complete athlete. In addition to working hard on the technical side, we always try to ensure that young people are having fun, this is also essential”, explained Leandro.

Finally, the young people were divided again into four groups, separated by age group, and had another training session. In this last session, the groups alternated between training on a small field and futsal. At the end of the training, the students received a very special visit from the project’s creator and club idol Marcelo, who participated in some final activities on the field with the kids, and even kicked a ball with the guys in futsal.

This Saturday (09/09), students will return to Laranjeiras for another day of intensive training.
