Chieti Town Hall Honors Judo Champions Lucio Tavoletta and Alessandro Bruno D’Urbano

This morning the two Theatine athletes Lucio Tavoletta and Alessandro Bruno D’Urbano were received in the Town Hall, the former world champion in judo category at the limit of 73 kilos and the latter silver medalist of 81 kilos. The mayor with the sports department will give them a symbolic plaque. To receive them mayor Diego Ferrara with the councilor for Sport Manuel Pantalone. But for excellent sportsmen, a great event is in the pipeline to give everyone a symbolic thank you from the city.

“We were really pleased to shake hands with these two judo champions – so the mayor Diego Ferrara and the Sports councilor Manuel Pantalone – because the emotions they made us experience are many and great and therefore the plate is a small thing than thanksgiving for bringing the colors of our city to the whole world. They are an example for everyone, but also a vector of our history and our tenacity that has led them to be champions, in their own disciplines, at the highest levels.

A temper animated not only by the passion for sport and the discipline, but also by the presence of the biological and sports families, an embrace that supports the toughest challenges and to which it is nice to return, especially when, as in this case, they bring awards and medals. We will involve these kids again in the sporting life of the city which we hope will come to life as soon as possible with the recognition of European City of Sport for 2025, but we will involve them all with an initiative that we will launch shortly by the presidency of the city council”.

“Chieti is a city where sport is at home, as demonstrated by the champions of yesterday and tomorrow, excellences that we will bring together so that they can tell the story and challenges to the city – announces the president of the city council Luigi Febo – As a Bureau we are working to a great event capable of bringing together all the Theatine athletes who have distinguished themselves. They are many, from cycling, to basketball, from judo, to motocross, to tennis, to athletics, to horse racing, no discipline is missing, for this reason, compatibly with their commitments, we will bring them together in the city so that our thanks and encouragement can reach them for present and future challenges”.
