The construction of the new stadium for the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg was confirmed Tuesday during a press conference.
Please note that this information had already been covered by numerous North American media the day before.
The construction of this 30,000-seat stadium will cost at least 1.2 billion US dollars. It will be built in the historic Gas Plant district of St. Petersburg. This city is actually a suburb located southwest of downtown Tampa Bay.
It will be the only fixed-roof stadium in major league baseball.
The organization will pay $600 million, Pineda County $300 million and the City of St. Petersburg will cover the other $300 million.
