Crunch time at the US Open! At the last Grand Slam tournament of 2023, the semi-finals are just around the corner – in which tickets for the grand final on Sunday will be awarded.
Carlos Alcaraz will face Daniil Medvedev after his semi-final win against Alexander Zverev. For his part, the 2021 US Open winner clearly prevailed against Andrey Rublev. In the other semi-final, Novak Djokovic and sensational Ben Shelton face each other.
While the “Djoker” had little to lose in his quarter-final against the American Taylor Fritz (1:6, 4:6, 4:6), Shelton prevailed against his American compatriot Frances Tiafoe in four sets (6:2, 3:6, 7:6, 6:2).
The first semi-final between Djokovic and Shelton begins on Friday (September 8th) at 9:00 p.m. CEST in the day session, the second with Alcaraz and Medvedev on Saturday (9th September) from 1:00 a.m. CEST in the night session.
If the two favorites Alcaraz and Djokovic prevail, there would be a repeat of the Wimbledon final – which the Spaniard won after a crazy game.
