The German basketball players also won their fourth game at the World Cup in Asia and reached the quarter-finals early. Captain Dennis Schröder’s team clearly won 100:73 (43:41) against Georgia at the start of the intermediate round in Okinawa on Friday. With the subsequent 91:80 (49:40) by Slovenia against Australia in the second round of Group K, progress is already certain.

The best German throwers against Georgia were Maodo Lo with 18 points and Schröder with 16 points. The former Alba player Lo was able to show a three-point hit rate of 100 percent. He sank every one of his six attempts – all in the second half.

On Sunday against Slovenia and Doncic

Against outsiders Georgia, Germany showed their weakest tournament performance in the first half. Without Franz Wagner, who is still missing due to an injury, the German selection found no rhythm in front of 5,852 spectators. After the change of sides, Schröder and Co. increased significantly and pulled away decisively in the third quarter.

On Sunday (1:10 p.m. / Magentasport) the German team meets Slovenia with superstar Luka Doncic. It’s now just a matter of who moves into the quarter-finals as group winners.
