Giulia Gwinn was injured for months. The Bayern star therefore missed the Women’s World Cup in the summer. But now there is great news.
Munich – It’s been a tough few months for Giulia Gwinn!
While FC Bayern Munich celebrated the German championship in the summer, the 24-year-old had to watch injured. Gwinn was also forced to watch the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, which was anything but successful with the DFB women’s early exit from the preliminary round.

Giulia Gwinn returns to the national team after a long injury break
The right-back tore a cruciate ligament in October 2022. Already the second in her career. Gwinn worked like a woman possessed on a comeback last season, but it wasn’t enough. That’s why she didn’t make it into national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg’s World Cup squad.
But now everything seems to be going well again! She completed the entire preparation at Bayern – and her comeback is now just around the corner in the DFB team. Because Gwinn was nominated for the international matches at the start of the Nations League in Denmark (22nd) and against Iceland (26th).

Giulia Gwinn celebrates her comeback with the DFB after a torn cruciate ligament
Of course Gwinn is very happy! After all, their last international match was almost a year ago. On Instagram, Gwinn shared photos of herself in her story in a DFB outfit.
Even though she wasn’t on the pitch at the World Cup, Gwinn was on duty as a ZDF expert. However, only for the preliminary round because the tournament for the DFB women was then over.
Now Giulia Gwinn can finally get involved on the pitch again. That should actually make her even more happy. (smk)
