Indonesia’s Schedule and Squad Revealed for the 2023 Asian Games

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – The schedule for the Indonesian national team at the 2023 Asian Games will take place from 23 September to 8 October 2023 in Guangzhou China.

After Shin Tae-yong escorted the progress of the Indonesian U23 national team in the 2024 U23 Asian Cup Qualification on 9-12 September 2023, now it is Indra Sjafri’s turn to handle Garuda Muda.

For the Asian Games, the U24 National Team squad will play, and Indra Sjafri will handle it.

The latest update states that Indra Sjafri will use players coached by Shin Tae-yong at the U20 level, the 2023 SEA Games, and several senior national team players.

This was confirmed by Indra SJafri himself after watching the U17 Indonesia vs South Korea U17 national team at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, Wednesday (30/8/2023).

The plan is for the 2023 Asian Games Training Center (TC) to take place on Tuesday (5/9/2023).

However, Indra Sjafri is still waiting for Shin Tae-yong’s agenda in the 2024 U23 Asian Cup Qualification until the September 2023 FIFA Matchday match has been rolled out.

“So for the Asian Games, we will have TC on September 5,” said Indra Sjafri via She was Sport (31/8/2023).

“I have coordinated with Shin Tae-yong on September 8 there are 21 players who will join from the Indonesian national team,” said the former coach of the Indonesian U-19 national team.

“After the last match of the U-23 Asian Cup Qualification on September 12, September 13 was transferred to the Indonesian U-24 National Team,” said Indra Sjafri.

For the Asian Games this time, the Indonesian U24 national team was joined in group F with Kyrgyzstan, North Korea and Taiwan.

The opportunity for Garuda Muda to qualify for the next phase is quite large.

The opponent for the Indonesian U24 national team that was considered tough was North Korea, which successfully penetrated the quarter-finals at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.

At that time, the move from North Korea fell through an opponent who thwarted the steps of the Indonesian U24 National Team in the top 16 phase.
