Article 1. The Kopa Trophy is an annual trophy organized by the monthly magazine France Football.
Article 2. The Kopa Trophy rewards the best hope under the age of 21 on July 31, without distinction of Championship or nationality.
Article 3. To appear on the list of nominees, the player must have played more than half of his club’s matches during the season.
Article 4. The reference period is between the month of August and the following month of July in order to integrate the entire season, international competitions included.
Article 5. The Kopa Trophy is awarded according to three main criteria. 1. Individual performance and decisive and impressive character; 2. Collective performances and awards; 3. Class and fair play.
Article 6. The winner is chosen by a grand jury composed exclusively of the winners of the Ballon d’Or.
Article 7. Each grand juror appoints three players from a list of ten nominated by the editorial staff of France Football, members of the editorial staff of L’Équipe, the best juror of the previous edition as well as the ambassador of the Ballon d’Or, Didier Drogba.
Article 8. The three players selected are awarded 5, 3 and 1 points. The trophy is awarded to the player with the highest number of points.
Article 9. In the event of a tie, the players are separated by the number of citations for first place. If the tie remains, by the number of citations to the second, then by the number of citations to the third.
Article 10. Any dispute is settled by the editorial director of France Football as organizer and president of the jury.
