Silver and bronze medals for Judo from Mexico at the Panamerican Oceania Championships 2023
Members of the Mexican Judo Team who attended the Panamerican Oceania Senior Championships Individuals 2023 had a great closing, where they managed to win three silver medals and one bronze, adding points to the international ranking.
The achievement of the Mexican team stood out because the best judo exponents from 23 countries on both continents attended this event held in Calgary, Canada.
This achievement was celebrated by the Mexican Judo Federation (FMJ), who on its official Facebook page reported that three women were the ones who managed to get on the podium to win the silver medals, while the bronze medal went to one of the men’s team
These same results were marked in the results graphs, where it is noted that Edna Carrillo -48 kg, Paulina Martínez -52 kg and Prisca Awiti-Alcaraz -63 k, were the three judokas who, after intense combats, reached the final where they finished with the silver medal for Mexico.
For his part, Gilberto Cardoso -73 kg, was the athlete who managed to take the bronze medal, while Ulises Méndez -66 kg, reached position number five.
With these medals, Mexico was placed in position number 5 in the overall medal table, where Brazil was in first position, Canada second, Australia third and Chile fourth.
