MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg Remain Undefeated in Preparations while Ulm Struggles with Absent Players

The preparations for the MHP giants have been going almost perfectly so far, but opponents Ulm haven’t been able to play with their best players yet.

Basketball Bundesliga team MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg remains undefeated in the preparation. On Thursday evening, even the German champions Ratiopharm Ulm had to take a beating, who narrowly lost 89:92 (48:49) in an intense game, although they weren’t quite able to play with their best players. That’s why head coach Josh King said, “It certainly wasn’t a good performance from us. However, we’ve seen what we still have to work on – and we still have three weeks until the first competitive game against Hamburg. On the one hand, we’re happy about the win, but above all we’re happy that we can finally play in front of our fans in the MHP Arena on Saturday.”

However, the Giants were without Johannes Patrick and Deion Hammond (5) retired early with a foot injury, so hopefully it’s nothing serious. Newcomer Jayvon Graves (22) was once again the most successful thrower for the Giants, while Karim Jallow, who was formerly from Ludwigsburg, was the most successful for the Ulmer with 24 points. The Giants led most of the game, highest with eleven points (35:24/11th).

The MHP giants continue this Saturday with the official season opener and the game against the Bakken Bears (Denmark), to which spectators are also allowed. Next Tuesday, the test against second division side Nuremberg is on the program – without a spectator.
