Mizzou Football Makes Resurgence, Ranks in Top 25 After Impressive Win

COLUMBIA, Mo. – On the heels of its 4-0 start and 34-27-win Saturday night, University of Missouri football moved into the Top 25 for the first time since the 2019 season – ranking No. 23 in the Associated Press poll and No. 22 in The US LBM Coaches Poll.

Missouri defeated Memphis in the 2023 Zou to the Lou Classic inside The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. Three St. Louis natives, WR Luther Burden III, QB Brady Cook and RB Cody Schrader, led the way for the offense Saturday night. Burden had 10 receptions for a career high 177 yards, Cook threw for 341 and two TDs while Schrader averaged 8.8 yards per carry, totaling 123 yards and a score.

The Tigers were last ranked in the AP poll on Oct. 23, 2019 (No. 22) and it’s the first appearance in the Coaches Poll since Sept. 20, 2015 (No. 23).

Mizzou heads to Nashville to open Southeastern Conference play on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Vanderbilt. The Tigers and Commodores kick off from FirstBank Stadium at 3 p.m. CT. The game will air on SEC Network and Tiger Radio Network.
