Monarcas-2015 Wins the Confraternidad y Amistad Cup in Academic Officials Softball League

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Monarcas team from the 2015 promotion, defeated the 2018 Sharks, swept them by winning two games in a row in the best-of-three final series, to lift the Military and Police Confraternity rotating cup by being crowned champion of the tournament organized by the League of Academic Officials Softball (Lisoa), in the 2023 version.

Pitcher Eudaly Pérez, who won both games, was chosen as Most Valuable Player of the series, which took place at the Piloto Hipólito Ureña stadium at the San Isidro Air Base.

In addition to the trophy, a medal was awarded to each of the players on the champion team.

The champion team is made up of officers graduated from the academies of the Army of the Dominican Republic, Navy of the Dominican Republic, Air Force of the Dominican Republic and the National Police. The Monarchs won the tournament held in 2021 for the first time.

To the tune of 11 hits, in an offensive led by Carlos Lachapell and Melvin Quezada, the Monarcas defeated the Sharks by knockout in the first game, 16 runs to two.

“It has been a great tournament, which has allowed us to share and compete in an athletic event where fraternization led each day, strengthening the friendly ties between our officers, superiors and subordinates, without lacking discipline and promoting courtesy,” he said.
