National: winner in Martigues, the Red Star takes the lead

Decidedly, the Red Star is the black beast of Martigues. Last March, the Audoniens had inflicted on the Martégaux, then leader, their only defeat of the season (0-2) at home. This Monday evening, they repeated this clash between the 3rd and 4th of the last National championship by winning (0-1) in the South during the 4th day of National. A very good performance. Thanks to this third success, Habib Beye’s men take the lead in the championship with a point lead over Villefranche and two over their evening opponent.

In a pleasant meeting, the Audonien Botella misses in the first period an offering from Ifanoui while the opposing goal is empty (35th). The Ile-de-France goalkeeper Beunardeau, who arrived this summer from Leixoes, then proves intractable on his line and disgusts the Martegal attackers (45th, 40th, 60th). In control, the Red Star stings at the right time on a cross shot from Hachem after a deflection of the head of the stainless Cheikh Ndoye (0-1, 55th). Martigues misses the opportunity to equalize late in the game but Morante’s header hits the post (87′).

“We played with our game identity, welcomes striker Ryad Hachem at the microphone of Canal +. I took advantage of a Cheikh ball to score. We are happy. It’s always good to be first. We have the capacity and the character. This bodes well for the future. »
