NBA Coach Nick Nurse Faces Uncertainty and Plans Changes for Philadelphia 76ers

The new coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, Nick Nurse, is facing a very complicated situation in his first months at the helm of the team. The coach still does not know which players he will count on for the ‘training camp’ after James Harden requested his transfer without having even played a game under him.

While waiting for what finally happens, Nurse has focused his attention on projecting and working with what he has at hand. The head coach of the 76ers has already advanced a new plan for Joel Embiid, but it is not the only new thing she has planned. In a recent interview for the media USA TodayNurse stated that he will also give a larger role to Tobias Harris.

“There’s so much more I could do,” Nurse began. “I want him to adapt and play the role he’s capable of and has experience playing, but I also want him to do other things and expand his game beyond that role.”

Last year, Harris played a much more specialized and specific role, mainly in attack, since Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey were in charge of leading the 76ers’ offensive baton. Now, Nurse has advanced the possibility that Harris will once again be more incisive in attack.

«There are guys who maybe have never shot three-pointers before and they are not bad at it. And we might need them to shoot more or whatever,” Nurse continued about his overview of the roles on the team. «Paul Reed would be a good example for us in that. So we’ll start to open his mind a little, work on it and see what happens. »
