NFL News today Thursday; Will Cooper Kupp play this Sunday?; How is Joe Burrow feeling for the Bengals kickoff? Lamar Jackson feels 100%, and more.
Cooper Kupp will not play for the Rams this week
Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp will sit out Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks due to a lingering hamstring injury, reported The Athletic.
Through HC Sean McVay, journalist Jourdan Rodrigue explained that the player is not prepared for a regression in his recovery. The player also went to see a specialist to find out the details of his injury.
“There is not much more information. … It’s just some soft tissue stuff,” McVay said Wednesday.
Likewise, the team does not rule out finally sending him to the injured reserve so that he can recover in time.
“We want it to be out there, but we don’t want to rush it,” McVay added, according to Gary Kleinof Los Angeles Times.
With this new problem, Kupp could be out longer than he was last year. In 2022 he was only in nine games and could not help his team that finished 5-12 the season. The problem is that he proves too valuable to them, with him being the team’s leading receiver in five of his last six seasons.
Without him, the Rams are very limited in the pass with only: WR Van Jefferson, WR Tutu Atwell and WR Ben Skowronek to face the Seahawks and we will see for how many more games.
How much will you lower your Rams win projection this year without Cooper Kupp?
Joe Burrow ready to play against Browns
QB Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals has been able complete training recentlyso he already looks ready to play in Cleveland next Sunday.
Burrow was out of action for more than a month while recovering from a calf injury, but thankfully he looks better as the days go by. Currently, he left very little doubt that he will be present for his team’s debut.
“I’m ready to go,” Burrow told those present at his Wednesday press conference.
The quarterback certainly doesn’t want to miss any more games after not being able to play much in his rookie year due to a torn ACL. He in turn assured that he is in the best shape he has ever seen in an opening week.
How much does this news increase your optimism in the Bengals?

Lamar Jackson feels 100% for this season
QB Lamar Jackson has not played since the beginning of December, missing five games due to a posterior collateral ligament injury, but now he feels better than ever to take advantage of his juicy contract extension signed with the Ravens this year.
“I’m back. I feel better. One hundred percent. So I’m ready to prove it,” Jackson said Wednesday, via a team video.
The addition this year of offensive coordinator, Todd Monken, is another reason that has the MVP of the 2019 season excited and could take him to that level once again in the coming months.
“Lamar is his own man,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said. “Lamar is a confident guy, and he is because he is another guy who works very hard at it. I mean, Lamar has put everything into it. He has been here. He has been studying day and night. He’s been working on all the fundamentals of it. And he is ready. As we said last week, he is ready to be on point with everything he does. I think he and Todd get along very well. They have to be like that. They are like that. They talk a lot and we’ll see what happens. It’s not just a match either. “We are talking about a whole season ahead.”

Jackson added that he feels “very comfortable” and “great” about where he is at this point with the Ravens.
The team will not have an easy time this season in the very tough AFC, nor in its division, the AFC North, but with Jackson as a starter they have a record of 49-21, so they are contenders as long as they have their quarterback healthy, and now that They know he is 100%, they will surely want to keep it that way until the Super Bowl.
What do you expect from the Baltimore Ravens this year with Lamar Jackson healthy and the revamped offense?
Joshua Dobbs named Arizona Cardinals starter
Although HC Jonathan Gannon refused to give a starting QB for next Sunday, it was finally announced that the Cardinals named their star quarterback for this week’s debut through a leak to the media.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Mediathe team plans to start QB Joshua Dobbs in Week 1. Meanwhile, rookie QB Clayton Tune will be behind as the first option to replace the veteran.

The surprise comes when Dobbs hasn’t even been on the team for two weeks and they already see him better than their internal options. However, with his experience with offensive coordinator Drew Petzing in Cleveland, they seem comfortable giving him the time while QB Kyler Murray recovers (which could be all year).
Rapoport assured that the decision is not final because a weekly evaluation will be maintained to determine whether or not they should continue with this plan. The truth is that this leaves us with more doubts in the process.
What do you miss about the Cardinals’ season this year? Are they really the worst team heading into the 2023 season?
