Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert eliminated in the doubles semi-finals at the US Open

No final for Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert at the US Open in the doubles tournament. Thursday, the two French lost in the semi-final against the pair made up of the Indian Rohan Bopanna and the Australian Matthew Ebden, in two sets (7-6 [3]6-2).

Mahut and Herbert led 4-2 in the first set, before being broken and caught at 4-4. Everyone then kept their service. In the tie-break, the score was 4-3, before Bopanna and Ebden escaped and pocketed the set.

In the second set, Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert were quickly left behind, losing their serve twice to find themselves trailing 4-1. They could not make up this delay, thus hastening their elimination. The two men had won the US Open in 2015, for their first Grand Slam title.
